Cool trip. I remember the bus ride from Luang Prabang. It was slow, curvy, and nauseating. Which beach did you end up at?

Most of my family lives in Taipei. Living in Taiwan, I'm surprised you don't ride Giants :)

When you are on a trip like that carrying extra gear like cycling shoes is a pain.

Cool trip. I just remember that the road from Luang Prabang to Vientiane was super curvy and made me feel sick while riding a minibus. It would be fun on a bike, except for some of the locals hanging around with machine guns. Where did you learn to speak Mandarin?

I also don't think those bikes are visually appealing. I know it is shallow, but I rather have a bike with nicer lines and maybe a lower centre of gravity.

That would not be such a good idea on a bike where you needed to sit and pedal, but for his style of riding, I think that is pretty friggin' clever.
